JOB DESCRIPTION ½ STK SERVER

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Execute company Sequence of Service to serve guests food and beverage in a timely manner

 

  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Know the steps of service as outlined in the service manual
  • Make guests feel comfortable and enhance guest experience
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Have detailed knowledge of menu and be able to articulate enthusiastically. Stay abreast of menu changes.
  • Have knowledge of the wine list and be able to pair wines by the glass with menu items
  • Have knowledge of all specialty cocktails; basic ingredients and taste
  • Be fluent with the POS system
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter into point-of-sale
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter
  • Anticipate guests needs and exceed their expectations
  • Maintain clean service areas
  • Supervise the clearing of tables and mise-en-place necessary for the next course
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable)
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise
  • Be ready and willing to assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the floor manager or immediate supervisor
  • Act professional and accommodating and always maintain your composure

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • 3 years experience required
  • Be 21 years of age
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • Must have knowledge of dining room, wine, cocktail and bottle service procedures and functions
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver items, frequently weighing 20 to 25 pounds
