About the role, what will you be doing?

 

Security Manager will oversee the overall operation of the Security department in the protection of hotel, guest & employee property. You will ensure guest & employee safety in accordance with operational standards & relevant legislation. You will also:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Security Department and that all Security, Fire, Emergency and Crisis Management procedures are adhered to throughout ME London, in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and security of our guests, employees, assets and facilities through proactive risk management and to minimise all potential threats through regular presence of Security Officers in all areas of the hotel.
  • Ensure all Hotel colleagues have a sound knowledge of Hotel Security procedures and are fully briefed on the importance of Security Awareness.
  • Actively demonstrate excellence in customer care and service, whilst maintaining high levels of respect and a professional image at all times within the hotel.
  • Chair & take ownership of the Health & Safety Committee, with specific involvement in maintaining a safe work environment, by ensuring the completion of incident investigations and workplace inspections.
  • Be responsible for preventing avoidable loss to the hotel, guests and colleagues, whilst aiming to provide a hazard free environment for both guests and colleagues.
  • Assisting hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems, such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters.
  • Conducting monthly audits on lost property, health & safety, master keys, long-term luggage storage and front office registration procedures, and to maintain appropriate required records.
  • Conducting health and safety trainings through the hotel for all departments including but not limited to fire training, COSHH training etc.
  • Investigating all accidents, injuries & potential injuries; whether to a guest, member of staff, or to Hotel property.
  • Establish effective communication with all departments with special emphasis on the key departments working with Security, i.e. Front of House, Food & Beverage, Maintenance.
  • Carrying out frequent patrols of all guest floors, public and service areas within the Hotel, including irregular checks of the perimeter, reporting irregularities and or safety and security concerns to the relevant departments or individuals.
  • Control access and egress from staff entrance, including verification, preparation, issue and recovery of ID cards and visitor passes. To ensure no unauthorized persons enter the company premises and to ensure that all Persons properly seeking admission are courteously received and assisted
  • Ensure an in depth understanding and correct usage of the CCTV and other operating systems.
  • Be fully conversant with all procedures and able to conduct a full evacuation of the Hotel, including disabled guests, in the event of a fire, bomb threat or power down situation.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with the local Metropolitan Police, Foreign Office, Customs & Excise, Scotland Yard, Immigration and any other pertinent Civil authorities

Who are we looking for?

  • The position requires a minimum of two years’ experience in hotels in a similar position or as Assistant Manager role
  • The candidate must have experience of coordinating a team of eight people minimum
  • Must hold a valid license from the Security Industry Authority: SIA door supervisor licence & SIA CCTV licence
  • Have valid references and no criminal history
  • Is able to adapt their working schedule according to the demands of the hotel
  • Organised and able to react quickly, improvising accordingly
  • Always in the know of new trends, fashions, art and culture
  • The ability to promote positive relationships with all guests and colleagues in the hotel and company
  • Leadership qualities in regards to thinking clearly, quickly, and making decisions
  • Should be creative, innovative and strive for continuous improvement
