We have an amazing opportunity for a Chief Engineer to join Melia White House Hotel.

 

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Maintenance Department. In addition you will be in charge of managing, developing and coaching a team of 15 with the assistance of an Assistant Maintenance Manager.

 

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

* Maintaining and understanding all mechanical equipment in the plant rooms such as Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, Vessels, Heat exchangers, Inverters, etc.

* To ensure a thorough working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 specifically relating to the main area of duty.

* To ensure a thorough knowledge of the Fire Precautions Act 1974 and that the hotel conforms to necessary requirements.

* To ensure a thorough knowledge of the 1989 Electricity at Work Act.

* To ensure all policies with regards to lifts, Fire Alarm systems and pressure vessels are maintained in accordance with insurance requirements.

* Have a fully understanding of the services of the building including hot and cold water services, Drains and sewage and electrical and gas installations.

* To work closely with the Resident Manager and the Financial Controller with regard to all aspects of maintenance functions and control of expenditure.

* 5 days out of 7 worked, however you must be prepared for out of hours call outs, as and when necessary, due to emergencies that may arise unexpectedly. The hotel operates a 24-hour cover system between three maintenance team members.
