What will I be doing?

Efficiently greet guests and seat at tables in a friendly and timely fashion.


  • Organize seating plan on Open Table before Service
  • Communicate guest’s notes and info to managers, chef and servers during service
  • Liaise with the Reservation manager for special information, requests and bookings
  • Train new and existing staff
  • Maintained company standards
  • Participate to weekly manager’s meetings
  • Keep all menus clean and organized
  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival, using guest name if known and recognizing any regular guests
  • When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and quote wait times
  • Update Maître d/lead host on table status
  • Run Open Table System
  • Locate guest parties when tables become available
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
  • Seat guests based on guest preference, guest count in server stations and proper seating of room
  • Help guests with tables and chairs when seating
  • Upon seating, open and hand guests the menu
  • Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return

  • English: Mother tongue or fluent
  • Further languages are highly valued depending on location



  • 2/3 years experience required
  • Be 18 years of age
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • Must have knowledge of dining room
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Be able to safely lift and easily manoeuver items, weighing 20 to 25 pounds
  • Some knowledge of floor plan system e.g Opentable
