MISSION:

Development of the MARKETING PLAN of the hotel according to the brand vision and in collaboration with the MARKETING PARTNER, focusing on positioning the hotel in local and international markets. Also, this position is responsible in the implementation of the hotel’s cultural and gastronomic activities calendar, which is the content platform to carry out a communication, sales and public relations strategy in the luxury & lifesytle strategy. The person must have a MARKETING, COMMUNICATION AND PR background, and a deep knowledge of the latest trends in entertainment, culture, gastronomy, wellness etc., both locally and internationally.

The chosen candidate will conceptualize events and activations and exceptional experiences to capture our target’s interest and position both the hotel and the brand – with a strong focus on communication, social media and PR. The activations will be managed together with local partners and in collaboration with the marketing partner and always aligned to SALES & OPERATIONS Strategy.

 

COMMUNICATION & PR:

  • Creation and upkeep of the hotel Press Kit, so that it is always updated with melia.com’s latest novelties.
  • Management of all requests from the press, influencers and creatives.
  • Daily communication with the PR and social media agencies to disseminate all the activations that take place in the hotel.

 

 SOCIAL MEDIA:

  • Creation the RFPs for the hotel's SOCIAL MEDIA agency.
  • Attendance to the monthly meetings, together with the MARKETING PARTNER and brand team, to ensure the hotel follows the brand guidelines.
  • Review of weekly calendars to ensure content meets brand standards for image and tone of voice. Supervision of the content led by the local agency and proposal of new ideas related to the latest tendencies for the local market.
  • Selection and approval of influencers’ stays together with the SOCIAL MEDIA & PR team.
  • Search/ creation of social touchpoints (eg: IG photo opportunity) at each hotel, so that every client becomes a fan of both the hotel and brand’s profiles and use our hashtags to increase participation.

 

PARTNERSHIPS:

  • Contact person for the hotel PARTNERSHIPS, to make sure they comply with the bases agreed in the hotel's marketing plan.

F&B PROMOTION & EVENTS (in collaboration with the F&B team)

  • Creates F&B Marketing Plan (when the outlets is a strategic and key outlet).
  • Creates F&B Identity.
  • Create synergies in communication with the F&B operator and the Brand.
  • Identifying partners opportunities (live music, DJs, etc.) and coordinating events in collaboration with the F&B director/Guest Experience.
  • Attending key guetst, VIP’s, press and Infuencers.

 

PHOTOSHOOTINGS/VIDEOSHOOTINGS

  • Organization, coordination and selection of all material for editorial /product photoshoots & video shoots.
  • Physical attendance to hotel video and photoshoots.
  • Ensuring a correct usage of this content throughout all channels and contact points of the organization, so that it is always available for anyone who might need it.
  • Supervision and organization of styling, atrezzo, communication of hotel needs, etc. This will be carefully reviewed together with the marketing partner, to ensure it is aligned with the brand standards.

 

MELIA.COM

The person will make sure that all hotel content is updated at MELIA.COM and other key channels (via the marketing partner).

 

BRAND/HOTEL PRESENTATIONS

  • Creation and update of brand/hotel presentations so that new employees can understand the company’s marketing strategies. Every employee at the hotel should be familiar with the marketing focus, so that they can transmit it at every contact with the client.
  • Creation of hotel presentations for partners.

 

SALES MATERIALS CREATION & DESIGN

  • The marketing manager will have support to create promotional materials and other kinds of design petitions: promotions, fact sheets, sales presentations, trade fairs, etc.
  • It is strictly necessary to collaborate with suppliers that have been previously approved by the Brand team, according to the identity manuals.

 

BUDGET

Control and execution of marketing budgets, reporting the improvements and updates to the marketing partner and working very closely with Director of Sales and General Manager throughout the year.

 

 

What do I have to do?

  • Keep abreast of newest trends and innovations in the industry and F&B marketing field.

  • Maintains an awareness of competitor marketing activity and best practices.

  • Understands the changing needs of the business and develops promotions to meet both short term and long-term needs for the hotel and the F&B outlets.

  • Sets realistic, measurable marketing standards, objectives and goals be achieved and communicates.

  • Effectively manage the marketing budget on a day-to-day basis, ensure and quantify that activities deliver strong ROI in support of campaign objectives.

  • Develop and maximize third party relationships in conjunction with key internal stakeholders to increase footfall, deliver sales growth and extend our reach.

  • Manage PR and creative agencies to consistently high standards.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Prior experience in a similar role and industry with the proven record of driving results

  • Excellent skills in communications and project management

  • Social Media lover & trends follower

  • Experience in PR and Event Management will be valued

  • The ability to respond effectively to pressure

  • With the Right to Work in Portugal

  • Portuguese speaker and High level of English
