Hotel Melia Durrës is a luxurious beachfront resort offering world-class hospitality services to our esteemed guests. With a focus on providing exceptional service and memorable experiences, we are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, and driven individual to join our team as an Hygiene & Health Manager.
Mission:
Responsible for overseeing the health and hygiene standards in the hotel. Ensuring that the organization adheres to national and international health and hygiene regulations. This includes compliance with sanitation, food safety, and environmental health laws.
What will you have to do?

Coordinate the Food Hygiene Management Programme in kitchens, bars, restaurants, stores, warehouses, waste chambers, etc., by conducting weekly audits in each area, making on-site corrections, and identifying needs to coordinate training sessions.

Coordinate, attend, and follow up on implementing the Cristal Food Check certification in coordination with the Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Manager.

Produce and ensure timely compliance with the action plans resulting from audits and inspections.

Implement immediate corrective measures and plan preventive measures with heads of departments.

Follow up on action plans arising from audits and inspections.

Verify that staff in all departments involved comply with hygiene standards.

Be knowledgeable of the Brand philosophy, ensuring optimal implementation of the standards, operations, and identity manuals that apply to their department.

Implement initiatives to encourage the reduction of food waste.

Be knowledgeable of the hotel’s evacuation plan.

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Procedures and Instructions.

Be knowledgeable of the individual protection equipment in their department and ensure its correct implementation and use by means of the corresponding training actions.

Verify correct compliance with safety regulations.

Participate in ongoing risk assessments.
What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.

Certification in Food Safety (such as HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent) is required.
-
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or foodservice industry.

Proven track record of successfully managing food hygiene and safety programs.

Experience with certifications like Cristal Food Check or similar quality assurance systems is a plus.

Demonstrated experience in conducting audits, inspections, and implementing corrective actions.

In-depth knowledge of local food safety regulations and international hygiene standards.

Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a focus on compliance and quality.

Excellent interpersonal skills to train, communicate with, and guide staff.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software for reporting and tracking.

Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to implementing corrective and preventive measures.

High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.

Willingness to stay updated with the latest hygiene and health trends, laws, and best practices.

Proficiency in English is required.
