We are looking for Assistant Director of Sales (MICE) - Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort (based in Ho Chi Minh city)

 

Mission:

To generate business, using all the characteristics, advantages and benefits of the hotel and the country. Have to design, implement and execute the strategies and actions needed to achieve or improve all the sales goals defined in the business plan, following Meliá Guide Lines.

 

Main responsibilities:

OPERATIONS
    Supervise and validate the definition of the strategy for the Premium Sales, MICE and Sales Development segments.
    Define upselling objectives to the Event Coordinators to maximise revenues for each group/event. Train teams in effective sales techniques for site inspections and other opportunities to connect with the customer/meeting planner when the group is already in the hotel
    Assess group business to maximize contribution from available public space and generate room revenues whilst achieving banqueting budgets
    Yield all leads prior to the offer letter being sent out in terms of hotel selected, venue assigned or rates offered within the area set up
    Ensure that sales and catering PMS is well managed, maintained and updated as per company policy and standards
    To assure that the sales manager, sales executive correctly organizes and successfully execute the visits to the clients and review that weekly report and to make suggestions for any necessary improvements in order to achieve the goals.
    Review monthly segment report for both room & banquet revenue and find ways to improve the performance of the Hotel.
    Conduct team meeting once every week. (Both in resort & HCM)
    Keep abreast of the competitor’s activities on a weekly basis.
    Organize and promote, in cooperation with the Food & Beverage Department special projects to stimulate Food & beverage sales within the community, including, but limited to, tournaments, balls, parties, gastronomic festivities, etc.
    Ensures participation in the sales actions defined in the action plan in coordination with the corresponding segment.
    Ensures the correct preparation and execution of sales inspection visits, of any nature or segment, which are to take place in the hotels under their responsibility.
    Oversees the management of group quotations in the hotels under their responsibility.
    Ensures the correct and complete implementation of FOCUS CRM for sales and group business management in all their teams (external sales and groups cluster) as well as the correct implementation of the MICE processes established by the Segment.
    Collaboration with the Revenue Sales Partner in the implementation of the hotel's pricing strategy.
    Responsible for planning and leading the pre-convention (pre-con) meeting for their groups to ensure direct relationship is created between the department heads and the meeting planner responsible for the group
    Is knowledgeable of the competitors (their products, improvements, rates, strengths and weaknesses, RevPar, etc.) and maintains a cordial relationship with them to ensure that they are aware of market trends and cross-market opportunities.
    Participate in those site inspections that deem appropriate due to high volume negotiations or according to the customer’s profile/market.
    Ensure that the results of the site inspections carried out by their team are reported to the hotel’s Director of Sales.
    Monitor deposits and payments due on the dates stipulated in the contract, updating the pro-forma invoice and sending it to the customer whenever necessary
    Review group billing to make sure it is accurate
ECONOMIC-FINANCIAL
    Participate in the preparation of projections by providing information on their department.
    Analyse the reason for deviations, participate in the definition of corrective actions and promote the implementation of corrective actions within their department.
    They are responsible for all orders, both for the purchase of materials and for the contracting of services, for their department, as well as for placing and confirming them in accordance with the established procedure.
    Ensure compliance with the applicable regulations in the daily processes of their department, which affect the department's performance and internal control.
    Collaborate on departmental review points during audits and establish action plans to address the reported issues.
    Analyse and solve possible incidents that may arise within the department, which are reported through the cash and production control that is carried out daily by the administration department or MHS. 
 

Main requirements:

  • Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration or similar.
  • Upgrade or Master in Marketing will be an advantage
  • Fluent English & Vietnamese

  • Opera System is an advantage
  • 3 years in a similar position in large hotels or international companies
  • 2 years in the company in similar position in large hotel.
