MISSION: Responsible for achieving the budget of the hotels in the segment for which they are responsible or the geographical areas to them with a vision of the business source. Attract, develop and retain accounts and carry out the actions defined in the sales action plan to achieve and exceed the quantitative and qualitative objectives in the hotel Business Plan.

BUSINESS REVIEW

  • Preparation of the reports required for the Business Review.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Manage local accounts not assigned to Account Managers. Promote hotels to local accounts along with global MHI programmes and tools such as MeliaPro Rewards, TravelLabs, etc.
  • Sign up new local accounts and generate new business opportunities for the company. Coordinate with Sales Development so that accounts can be assigned for those accounts in which there is greater potential for other destinations/hotels.
  • Receive and manage requests from account customers (from their assigned segments, geographical areas or sectors) and respond to those requests (coordinating with the Account Manager if it is an assigned account).
  • Prepare and complete Corporate RFPs, Tour Operator Contracts, MICE Agreements, etc., and negotiate directly with the account or through the Account Manager for the account. Prepare the Business Case required to attract new accounts.
  • Personally monitor the accounts for each hotel and act as a point of contact for any possible incidents with accounts, assuming ultimate responsibility for closing the incident and offering a solution to the customer.
  • Detection of new business opportunities in the different business segments in traditional markets and prospecting for accounts in potential new markets for the destination, directly in the market itself or with the help of incoming travel agencies or tourism organisations.
  • Negotiation of agreements for each of the hotels, along with their drafting, signature and upload to the relevant internal platform. Communicate any such agreements and coordinate with the departments involved.

GROUP MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate with the Group Sales Manager any request for a meeting or group that their accounts/markets may make for the hotels in the area, provide personal support to close the deal.
  • Coordinate with the Group Desk and through the Cross-selling programme any meeting or group request their accounts or commercial visits may generate for other MHI hotels.

TRADE FAIRS

  • Attend the assigned events and sales actions organised by third parties or by MHI.

PREOPENINGS

  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of the Preopening Action Plan for the hotel.
  • Create a calendar of site inspections prior to the opening of the hotel for both local accounts and for key accounts in coordination with the Segment Managers.
  • Propose specific campaigns with accounts under their responsibility and ensure their correct distribution.

COMMUNICATION

  • Actively participate in local professional organisations and forums related to the Corporate, MICE and Travel Industry segments.
  • Keep local companies and associations updated with news on the hotels in the area to enhance their visibility.
  • Maintain a fluid commercial relationship with key tourism organisations and related professional organisations in the area (Convention Bureaux, Tourism Offices) and take part in jointly planned actions (fam trips, promotional trips, etc.).

DIGITALISATION

  • Promote and develop virtual sales activities for the hotels in the area to reach a greater number of customers in a more efficient and dynamic way within the MeliaPro TravelLabs environment.

SITE INSPECTION

  • Coordinate and attend fam trips in hotels in the area.
  • Plan and implement site inspections of all types and for all segments in the hotels under their responsibility.

SUSTAINABILITY

 

  • Ensure metering of energy and/or water consumption for charging to the lessee (if applicable).
  • Give visibility to sustainable attributes in the customer relationship (under the instructions of the marketing & branding department).
  • Ensure sustainability communication under criteria of truthfulness, rigour and coherence.

REQUIREMENTS

  

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

Degree in Tourism, Hospitality or similar. 

LANGUAGES: 

Chinese language  and advanced English. A third language would be an asset. 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Ability to make decisions and define their area’s sales groups and events department strategy. 
  • Knowledge and business B2B, Corporate and MICE contacts. 
  • Great ability to communicate and negotiate. 
  • Hands-on and results oriented. 
  • Customer service and analytical skills. 
  • Knowledge of PMS Opera Cloud and Focus tools. 
  • Availability to travel. 

EXPERIENCE: 

5 years of experience in a similar position.
